Prime Video's autobiographical college comedy Overcompensating, created by and starring Benito Skinner, is being highlighted as an ideal weekend watch ahead of its second season. The first season, released on 15 May 2025, holds a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been praised for combining sharp humour with genuine emotional depth, marking it out among recent shows about young adult life.

Set at the fictional Yates College, the series follows Skinner's character Benny, a closeted gay student desperate to fit in, alongside friends and family including Carmen (Wally Baram), his sister Grace (Mary Beth Barone), his crush Miles (Rish Shah), roommate Hailee (Holmes) and frat guy Peter (Adam DiMarco). Season 2 began filming in April 2025 but has no confirmed release date; Skinner has teased that it "feels more queer" and more mature, with the returning cast joined by new recurring players including Tom Francis.
