Prime Video's new series Ride or Die has become the platform's top-streaming action thriller, drawing comparisons to Reacher for its blend of humour and hard-hitting action. The show stars Hannah Waddingham as elite assassin Judith and Octavia Spencer as American housewife Debbie, marking the first time the two actresses have shared the screen, and its success suggests fans of high-octane action dramas have found a fresh favourite.

The plot follows Judith, a skilled but insubordinate assassin working for a secretive organisation called the Agency, who is given one final mission to prove herself after repeatedly ignoring orders. That mission turns personal when she discovers her target's hotel room contains the body of David, the husband of her best friend Debbie, who believed Judith was merely an accountant. David is believed to have owed the Albanian mob £24 million, and as Debbie learns the truth about both her husband's fate and Judith's real profession, the pair are thrust into escalating chaos.
