Apple TV's 2022 limited series Black Bird has returned to the top 10 in several countries more than four years after its release, showing renewed demand for older prison-set crime dramas. The show pairs a Prison Break-style premise with a Mindhunter-esque psychological angle, following an inmate who agrees to get an earlier release by befriending a fellow prisoner suspected of being a dangerous serial killer and coaxing a confession from him.

The six-part miniseries stars Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser and reached a full conclusion at the end of its single season, so a second series is considered unlikely unless Apple revives it as an anthology. Its resurgence comes as Apple TV expands its library with older acquired titles such as I, Robot, alongside ongoing originals including the third season of Silo and new weekly episodes of Ted Lasso.
