British speed-eater Leah Shutkever has reclaimed the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to eat a burrito, a title she previously held before losing it to American competitive eater Miki Sudo in 2022. The win marks the third time Shutkever has set this particular record and adds to an already substantial personal tally of 42 Guinness World Records, cementing her reputation as one of the sport's most prolific title-holders.

Shutkever set the new record in August at Guinness World Records headquarters in London, finishing a 1.35lb burrito in 30.75 seconds, comfortably faster than Sudo's previous mark of 31.47 seconds. She first set the record in 2019 and improved her own time to 32.35 seconds in 2022 shortly before Sudo overtook her. Shutkever, who began competitive eating almost by chance after posting a food-challenge video online, said competitiveness and a willingness to take on unusual challenges have driven her career.
