Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been charged with two domestic misdemeanours after prosecutors said newly recovered garage surveillance footage supports key parts of an ex-girlfriend’s allegation that he assaulted her. The footage has not been released publicly, but the District Attorney says it could significantly affect both the criminal case and Jacobs’s NFL standing.

Prosecutors allege that during an incident at Jacobs’s Hobart, Wisconsin home on 23 May 2026, he grabbed the woman as she tried to leave, threw her to the ground and took her phone before apparently damaging it about 40 seconds later. Jacobs surrendered to police on 26 May and faces one count each of misdemeanour battery and criminal damage to property; his lawyers maintain he will be cleared. Investigators reportedly recovered surveillance-system components and phones from his home in late July, with forensic work taking weeks before the video was verified.
