A 44-year-old Bangladeshi national, Shahidul Islam, has been indicted by a Lake County, Florida grand jury in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman identified as his sister-in-law. According to prosecutors, Islam had previously been deported from the United States before illegally returning to the country.

The case involves capital charges, with prosecutors presenting evidence including DNA material, ballistic evidence from the shooting, and records of internet searches to support their case. Following the alleged incident, the defendant reportedly fled to an undisclosed sanctuary city. The prosecution is seeking the death penalty in the case.
