‘Psych’s Andy Berman Eyeing Return To USA Network With Procedural ‘Sherlock’s Secretary’

Deadline · 18 hours ago

USA Network is developing Sherlock’s Secretary, a procedural drama from Psych veteran Andy Berman, based on the true story of a woman who answered letters sent to Sherlock Holmes at 221B Baker Street. The premise has her begin solving real mysteries after years of responding to correspondence for the fictional detective, pairing a familiar literary brand with a character-led crime format.

Berman is writing the pilot and is expected to serve as showrunner and executive producer alongside Bruce Nash and Michael Van Dyke, with Fox Entertainment Studios producing. The real-life inspiration, Gug Kyriacou, worked as the “Sherlock’s secretary” while employed by Abbey National, whose Baker Street campus included the address associated with Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective; USA Network and Versant declined to comment.

  • USA Network is developing a Sherlock Holmes-inspired procedural.
  • Andy Berman will write and likely run the series.
  • The idea stems from a real Baker Street letter-answering role.
