Publishing Briefs: Only Good People Launches, Partners With Sony Music Publishing for Only Good Songs
Billboard's weekly publishing round-up reports on new deals and a new company launch across the music industry. The headline item is the launch of management, publishing and creative development company Only Good People in London and Stockholm, whose publishing arm, Only Good Songs, is a joint venture with Sony Music Publishing Germany, aimed at supporting songwriters and producers with long-term career development rather than one-off releases.
Only Good People was founded by Giovanni Damiani (head of business development), Sebi Bohnenberger (head of operations), board member Jay Pidgeon and managing director Martina Pemac, with a roster including James Newman, Damiani himself, Reece Taylor and Dom Lyttle. Elsewhere, Electric Feel Publishing signed UK producer Harry Beech, known for work with SZA, PARTYNEXTDOOR and 21 Savage, while Nashville songwriter Phil Barton signed a global publishing deal with BMG in partnership with Liz Rose Music, having previously written for Lee Brice, Mickey Guyton and Ashley McBryde.
