Punk Pioneers Heavens to Betsy Releasing First Full-Length in 30 Years

Rolling Stone · 2 hours ago

Punk duo Heavens to Betsy, featuring Sleater-Kinney's Corin Tucker and Tracy Sawyer, are releasing their first new project in over 30 years, since their sole 1994 studio album Calculated. The release, titled Baby's Gone, brings together previously unreleased archival recordings rather than newly written material, and arrives alongside a reunion tour, marking a significant return for a band influential in the early-1990s riot grrrl movement.

Baby's Gone compiles a 16-track demo tape originally recorded by Bratmobile's Molly Neuman in February 1992, together with 1993 and 1994 seven-inch recordings, and includes liner notes from Neuman. It is due out on 16 October via Kill Rock Stars in vinyl, CD and cassette formats, with a limited-edition reissue of the original demo tape also planned. The lead single, "Ain't Never Goin' Back," has been released alongside the announcement, and the band's tour kicks off the same day at Fine Line in Minneapolis, following a surprise reunion show in Portland over the summer.
