Qualcomm is reportedly preparing double-digit price rises across its processor range for products shipped after 1 September. The move could raise costs for smartphone, PC and wearable makers, potentially feeding through to consumer prices in several device categories.
The company has reportedly told customers it can no longer absorb higher supplier component costs, despite seeking alternative sources. Its chips are mainly made by TSMC, which faces supply constraints amid AI-driven demand for memory and components; shortages have also limited Qualcomm customers’ device production, although Qualcomm’s second-quarter 2026 revenue exceeded forecasts.
