## Key points

- Long Distance Runner make instrumental music centred on layered guitars.
- Their first two singles arrived in July and September.
- They may invite a vocalist to collaborate in future.

## Summary

Long Distance Runner are drawing interest with an instrumental sound built around layered guitars, turning the absence of a bassist and singer into a defining feature. The band say the arrangement gives them room to focus on texture and cohesion, while leaving listeners free to interpret the music.

The group’s members have played in Dead Dad’s Club and Mandrake Handshake, and have released two tracks: ‘Zero’ in July and ‘New Song’ in September. They were due to tour with Swervedriver in October and are open to bringing in a guest vocalist if they find the right fit; in the interview, members also discussed influences, collaborators and favourite albums.
