Rakim, Kurupt and Masta Killa have announced a collaborative album, The Godbody, and released its opening single, “Goin Down”, featuring Kokane. The project brings together three veteran rappers from different hip-hop traditions and follows Rakim’s recent return to releasing albums after a lengthy hiatus.

The Godbody is due on 18 September and contains 16 tracks, though Rakim appears on only five of them. Guests include Snoop Dogg, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, KRS-One, Kool G Rap and Daz Dillinger, while Jay-Z and Eminem feature on an interlude; “Goin Down” is described as a boom-bap track with funk-influenced vocals from Kokane.
