## Key points

- The Rams need a third straight win to move above .500.
- Jayden Daniels’ mobility could trouble Los Angeles’ injury-hit secondary.
- Washington’s run defence may force Matthew Stafford to lead the attack.

## Summary

The Los Angeles Rams visit the Washington Commanders seeking a third consecutive win that would lift them above .500 and strengthen their playoff bid. Washington, despite a losing record, has just beaten the Philadelphia Eagles and could pose a particular threat through quarterback Jayden Daniels’ ability to escape pressure.

The Rams are 4-4 after recovering from a 2-4 start, while the Commanders are 2-4-1. Los Angeles has tightened its defence, but cornerback Jaylen Watson is out for the season and Trent McDuffie is dealing with a back injury. The Rams’ running backs have scored in consecutive games, though Washington allows only 3.1 yards per carry; its pass defence is weaker, giving up 243 yards per game.
