## Summary

The Los Angeles Rams hosted the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, in the NFL's first international fixture of the 2026 season, opening the NFC West rivals' campaign with an unusual overseas Thursday night detour. The Rams are aiming for a run to Super Bowl LXI, which will be staged on their home turf at SoFi Stadium, making the early trip abroad a notable contrast to their eventual championship ambitions.

The game was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, kicking off at 8.35pm ET, and streamed worldwide on Netflix in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German across more than 200 countries. Fans in the Rams' and 49ers' home markets were able to watch for free on local stations KNBC 4 and KNTV 11 from 5pm PT, while NFL+ subscribers could livestream on mobile. Netflix's broadcast team featured host Elle Duncan, analysts Michael Irvin, Nick Foles and Clay Matthews III, sideline reporters MJ Acosta and Tom Pelissero, and play-by-play from Noah Eagle, with the Jonas Brothers performing at halftime.
