Newcastle United came from behind to draw with Bournemouth in the Premier League, with substitute Jacob Ramsey scoring a superb 88th-minute equaliser to deny the visitors what would have been Marco Rose's first win as Bournemouth manager. The result extended a troubling pattern for Bournemouth, who once again failed to hold onto a lead, having now conceded a late goal to drop points in similar fashion.

Bournemouth's Alex Scott had dominated the midfield battle for large parts of the match, playing the kind of controlling role that new manager Rose, a Red Bull-schooled coach known for high-intensity pressing, wants from his side. However, Newcastle's own German-trained manager, Matthias Jaissle, saw his side rescue the game through Ramsey, a player who has been largely peripheral since Jaissle replaced Eddie Howe, but whose well-taken late strike proved decisive in salvaging a point for the home side.
