Oxford United head coach Aaron Ramsey has said he remains "fully committed" to the club despite a temporary transfer embargo imposed on the League One side. The EFL barred Oxford from signing players until they comply with salary cost management protocol (SCMP) regulations, a setback coming just weeks into Ramsey's first permanent managerial role after previously serving as interim Cardiff City boss.

Ramsey said he has been told the situation should be resolved before January, with several requirements to be met over the coming month, and praised his current squad's commitment during pre-season. Oxford beat Aldershot Town 3-1 in their first pre-season friendly and face further games against Barnet, Crawley Town and Ipswich Town before opening their League Cup campaign against Leyton Orient on 8 August and their League One season at home to MK Dons a week later. The club has said it hopes to retain its current squad through the embargo, a stance Ramsey welcomed as a "sign of intent" from the owners.
