## Key points

- The article urges Rand Paul to run for president.
- It calls for a return to small-government Republican principles.
- Rising prices and Iran are cited as voter concerns.

## Summary

The article argues that Senator Rand Paul should run for president on a freedom agenda, saying he could steer the Republican Party back towards smaller government and free markets. Its case is that voters’ dissatisfaction with Republicans reflects concerns over rising prices and the prospect of prolonged war in Iran, creating a need for a political reset.

The piece describes the midterm elections as a major setback for Republicans and says the party should promote a positive liberty-focused message as it heads into 2027. It claims Paul is suited to lead that effort, alongside other Republicans who support freedom and liberty, but provides no polling, policy detail or evidence about his prospects.
