Country Music Hall of Famer Randy Travis has announced Same Old Way, his first album of original material in more than 18 years, due for release on 13 November via Warner Records Nashville. The album gathers previously unheard recordings made between 1986 and 2013, which producer and longtime collaborator Kyle Lehning assembled, remixed and remastered with Travis's input. The announcement matters both as a milestone for one of country music's most influential voices and as a poignant moment given Travis's 2013 stroke, which left him with limited speech and mobility.

The title track, released the same day as the announcement, was co-written by Travis and Lehning, the only song they have written together and Lehning's first major songwriting credit. Two earlier singles from the record, "Fish On" and "I Don't Care", have already been released. The news coincides with the 40th anniversary of Travis's 1986 debut album, Storms of Life, and comes as he wraps up his More Life Tour, which has taken in 54 cities across 24 states.
