Rangers agree £9.5m deal for Kevin Kelsy

The Guardian · 3 hours ago

Rangers have agreed to sign Portland Timbers striker Kevin Kelsy in a deal worth $13m (£9.5m), subject to final paperwork, a medical and visa approval. The move addresses Rangers’ need for attacking reinforcements after Youssef Chermiti suffered an ACL injury, amid a poor start to their Scottish Premiership campaign.

The fee could rise through performance-related payments and includes a sell-on clause for Portland, making it the MLS club’s record outgoing transfer. Kelsy, 22, scored 16 goals in 43 appearances after joining Portland from Shakhtar Donetsk for $6m in January, but is unlikely to play against Aberdeen this weekend.
