Namibia’s national cyber incident response team has confirmed unauthorised activity in the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs’ network, attributing it to the RansomHouse cybercrime group. The group listed the supposed victim on its leak site, making the incident notable because it openly targeted the country’s defence establishment.

The authorities have not said which systems or data were affected, whether information was stolen or encrypted, or whether a ransom was demanded. NAM-CSIRT is coordinating the investigation and recovery, while urging organisations to report attacks promptly; RansomHouse, active since 2021, is known for double-extortion tactics but is less active than leading groups such as The Gentlemen and Qilin.
