Ray Winstone said he confronted an unnamed director after witnessing him allegedly grope a younger female co-star while demonstrating a scene. He said the director had abused his position of power and that the incident was subsequently dealt with, highlighting concerns about misconduct and safeguarding on film sets.

Speaking to The Times, Winstone described how such situations were often handled informally and sometimes physically in the past, while acknowledging that working practices have changed. He is due to return as crime boss Bobby Glass in the second series of Netflix’s “The Gentlemen”, which has also been renewed for a third series, and joked that he continues acting because he has taxes to pay.
