Raye, Sombr, Teddy Swims and surprise guest Adam Lambert performed a medley of George Michael songs at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, celebrating his musical legacy. The tribute also points to renewed interest in his 1987 solo debut *Faith*, ahead of the album’s 40th anniversary.

Sombr sang “Faith” and “Father Figure”, Raye performed “Knew You Were Waiting”, Swims sang “Careless Whisper” and Lambert closed with “Freedom! ’90”, joined by Meek and Saint Harison. The tribute coincides with the live album *The Faith Tour*, due on 6 November, and a feature-length concert film opening in cinemas worldwide on 11 December. Michael won four VMAs and received the Video Vanguard Award in 1989.
