Razorlight share previously unheard ‘America’ demo from 20th anniversary edition of self-titled album
Razorlight have unveiled a previously unreleased demo recording titled 'Lost In America' from an upcoming deluxe reissue of their 2006 self-titled album, which will mark two decades since its original release. The early version presents a notably looser and more upbeat interpretation compared to the polished studio recording that became a UK Number One single, with frontman Johnny Borrell explaining he felt the demo's safer sound didn't align with the band's intended aesthetic.
The anniversary project includes a European and UK tour spanning October through December, where the group will perform the album in its entirety using their original four-member configuration. The 2006 release remains among their most commercially successful works, having achieved five-times platinum certification in the UK with sales exceeding 1.6 million copies and producing multiple hit singles including 'America', 'In The Morning', and 'Before I Fall To Pieces'.
