During a recent episode of a Bravo spin-off series, Luann de Lesseps accidentally misremembered the lyrics to Jennifer Lopez's 2002 hit single, saying Lopez is 'from the hood' instead of 'from the block.' The error was caught and corrected on camera whilst de Lesseps was discussing whether she should be addressed by her former aristocratic title stemming from her marriage to a French count.
De Lesseps later clarified in an interview that she genuinely knows the correct lyrics and song but had simply forgotten them in the moment. She attributed the lapse to spending extended periods living abroad in Europe throughout the 1990s and 2000s. She expressed embarrassment about the mistake and stated her hope that Lopez would not take offence, whilst emphasising her respect and affection for the singer.
