Rebelle Media and MGM Television have acquired the rights to adapt Sarah Adams’ When in Rome romance book series for television. The announcement, made at San Diego Comic-Con, reflects Rebelle’s renewed focus on romance-led programming and could add another small-town romantic drama to the television market.

The first novel follows burnt-out pop star Amelia Rose, who travels to Rome, Kentucky rather than Italy and meets baker Noah Walker after her car breaks down. The series also includes Practice Makes Perfect and Beg, Borrow, or Steal, each centred on different couples in the same town; no casting, release date or production timetable was announced.
