British actor Reda Elazouar, known for The Family Plan 2 and Sex Education, has been cast in the lead role of the action-thriller Scorpion, joining Alex Pettyfer and Clive Owen. Principal photography is already underway, having begun in Cyprus on 6 July 2026 under director Richard Hughes, with the shoot due to move to Bulgaria on 13 July and continue until the end of the month.

Elazouar plays Jason, a young police officer on his first assignment with an elite tactical unit of Afghanistan veterans, whose nighttime raid on a remote farmhouse becomes a deadly trap. The squad is sealed inside and threatened by a sinister voice demanding a confession about a classified Afghan operation, with someone to die every thirty minutes. The film features a large supporting cast and numerous producers across Copper Island, Huge Film and Dark Dreams Entertainment, with WestEnd Films handling world sales and set to show first footage to buyers at the TIFF market in September.
