Remaining Four Original Faust Members Announce Four New Albums: Hear A Track From Each
Krautrock pioneers Faust, active in various line-ups for more than half a century, have unveiled a novel project in which their four surviving original members will each release a solo album. The records will all come out simultaneously in September through the label Bureau B, an approach the article likens to KISS's 1978 batch of individual solo LPs. The move offers fans a chance to hear each founding member pursue their own creative direction after decades of collaborative work.
The four albums are: Hans Joachim Irmler's Unbegunden, described as immersive electronics, organ drones and spontaneous creation; Jean-Hervé Péron's MOI, a collaborative collage of musique concrète, spoken word, avant-pop, jazz and Fluxus-inspired experimentation; Gunther Wüsthoff's Fliegen Lernen, made with Onnen Bock and Bureau B's Gunther Buskies; and Werner "Zappi" Diermaier's Gugaruz, created with Schneider TM and centred on rhythm, noise and electro-acoustic invention. All four LPs are due out on 26 September via Bureau B, with a track from each available to hear.
