## Summary

The remains of a British father have been discovered in a well in France, 25 years after he vanished, with French police now investigating his former partner in connection with the case. The discovery reopens a decades-old missing persons case and points towards a long-suspected foul play scenario finally being examined by authorities.

Details of the exact location, the man's identity and the circumstances of the investigation were not fully available, though the case centres on his disappearance a quarter of a century ago and the recent recovery of his remains. Investigators are now looking closely at his partner as part of the probe into what happened to him.
