Jered Threatin, frontman of the band Threatin, has returned with a new single following heart surgery, with an album also planned. His comeback matters largely because the band became notorious in 2018 after a UK tour drew virtually no audiences and exposed claims that its online popularity had been artificially inflated.

The episode led to cancelled shows, unhappy venues, departing band members and legal disputes. Rather than apologising, Threatin maintained that the controversy had been an elaborate stunt, arguing that turning empty rooms into international headlines was itself part of the project; a later London performance was also sparsely attended and disorganised.
