Skybound Games has announced The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival, a retro-style beat-'em-up for PS5 set in the universe of the popular TV adaptation, arriving on 18th September. The release taps into a recent revival of the side-scrolling brawler genre, following well-received titles such as Marvel Cosmic Invasion and TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, though the game is being pitched as a more modest entry into the space rather than a genre standout.

The game features multiple characters from the source material, each with distinct moves, and blends close-quarters melee combat with firearms and crossbows for ranged options. It will launch in two versions: a Standard Edition (£17.99) with the game and a "Golden Survival Pack" pre-order bonus, and a Deluxe Edition (£29.99) that adds an "Arcade Apocalypse Pack" including weapon and character skins, an endless survival mode called The Walker Pit, a checkpoint-free "HELL ON EARTH" difficulty, and a digital soundtrack — meaning some gameplay modes are reserved for the pricier edition.
