Revealed: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s secret escape to a tycoon’s idyllic Scottish isle

Daily Mail · 4 hours ago

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reportedly took their children on a private trip earlier in July to Tanera Mor, a remote island in Scotland’s Summer Isles. The visit is notable because Harry has reportedly not yet taken Archie and Lilibet to Balmoral, while the island’s owner has longstanding connections with both Harry and Prince William.

Tanera Mor was bought in 2017 for £1.7 million by hedge fund co-founder Ian Wace, who is said to have invested £100 million in restoring it. The 800-acre island has had properties renovated, roads built and 100,000 trees planted; it also hosts guests through a charity supporting armed-forces and emergency-services personnel. The Sussexes were believed to have travelled from Althorp in Northamptonshire, the Spencer family home.
