Richard L. O’Connor, Emmy-Winning Producer, Dies at 96

Richard L. O’Connor, the Emmy-winning American producer and production executive, has died aged 96. His work helped bring a range of prominent films and television projects to screen, including *On Golden Pond*, *The Muppet Movie* and *Across 110th Street*.

O’Connor died on 22 July in Palm Desert, California, his family said. He won a 1990 Emmy for producing the NBC children’s telefilm *A Mother’s Courage: The Mary Thomas Story*, and also produced miniseries including *Fatal Vision* and *Amerika*; a funeral mass is scheduled for 8 August in Mendocino.
