Richard M. Rawlings Jr, a veteran television cinematographer whose credits included Charlie's Angels, L.A. Law, Gilmore Girls and Desperate Housewives, has died at the age of 82. His death was confirmed by the American Society of Cinematographers, though no details were given on the cause, date or place of death.

Over a 30-year career, Rawlings Jr received four Emmy nominations, including a win at the ASC Awards in 1988 for the CBS western Paradise, and was honoured with the ASC's Television Career Achievement Award in 2014. Born in Los Angeles in 1943, the son of fellow cinematographer Richard L. Rawlings, he began as a Warner Bros messenger before rising to take over Charlie's Angels midway through its third season in 1978, later working on shows including Matt Houston, Reasonable Doubts, Boston Public and Desperate Housewives, with his final credit coming in a 2008 Boston Public episode.
