Disney+ is developing a television adaptation of Rick Riordan's "The Kane Chronicles", the young-adult trilogy set in the same mythological universe as his "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" books. Should the project move forward to series, Angela Robinson, known for "True Blood" and "Wednesday", would write and executive produce alongside Riordan himself, marking Disney's second major screen venture with the author following the success of its "Percy Jackson" show.

The books follow siblings Carter and Sadie Kane, descendants of pharaohs Narmer and Ramses the Great, who must master inherited Egyptian magic to rescue their father after he unleashes the god of chaos. A film version had previously been in development at Netflix, but that option lapsed in 2024 after the streamer failed to settle on a script over two years. Riordan is reuniting with "Percy Jackson" producers Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Jeremy Bell of the Gotham Group, plus his wife and creative partner Rebecca Riordan, with the project based at 20th Television.
