## Key points

- Aaron Guzikowski will write Ridley Scott’s new Alien film.
- It is planned as a follow-up to Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.
- Scott is executive producing, and no release date is set.

## Summary

Ridley Scott’s next Alien film has appointed Aaron Guzikowski as its writer, reuniting the pair after their work on the science-fiction series Raised by Wolves. The project is intended to continue the stories of Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, rather than serve as a sequel to Alien: Romulus.

Scott is attached as an executive producer, but is not currently set to direct. The films’ android David, played by Michael Fassbender, is reportedly a link to the new story, though Fassbender has not joined the project. The film is in development, with no release date announced; Romulus’s sequel remains in development separately.
