Disney+ Canada has confirmed that Season 2 of Alien: Earth, the first-ever Alien television series, is now officially in production, sharing behind-the-scenes footage of stars Sydney Chandler and Babou Ceesay on set. The renewal underscores the show's success as a spin-off of Scott's long-running sci-fi horror franchise, with the director continuing to serve as a producer on the series.

Written and created by Noah Hawley, Alien: Earth was renewed for a second season last year following a strong reception to its debut. The new season will see Game of Thrones actors Peter Dinklage and Jerome Flynn reunite on screen. The confirmation comes at a difficult time for Scott's cinematic work, with his latest film, The Dog Stars, having taken only $21 million globally against a $70 million budget, leaving it far short of breaking even. Season 1 of Alien: Earth is currently available to stream on Hulu.
