## Summary

Apple TV’s Dope Thief, produced by Ridley Scott, is presented as an overlooked crime thriller worth watching despite the streaming service deciding not to make a second season. The eight-part series combines suspense, violence and wry humour, while exploring friendship, found family, trauma and addiction.

Adapted from Dennis Tafoya’s 2009 novel, it follows Philadelphia friends Manny Carvalho, played by Wagner Moura, and Ray Driscoll, played by Brian Tyree Henry, who pose as DEA agents to rob drug dealers. Their scheme goes wrong when they target an operation under real DEA surveillance, drawing them into a larger criminal enterprise. The article praises the cast, including Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew and Ving Rhames, and notes the show has an 86% Rotten Tomatoes score.
