HBO is developing Advantage Player, a casino drama starring and executive produced by Riley Keough. Inspired by professional gambler Gina Fiore’s life, the series follows a talented outsider who learns to gain an edge over casinos and becomes involved with other determined gamblers; it marks a reunion for Keough and writer-showrunner Will Graham after Daisy Jones & the Six.

The project comes from Media Res, with Keough and Gina Gammell producing through Felix Culpa, alongside Fiore, Graham, Invitation Media and Media Res executives. Fiore documented her 24 years as a professional gambler in the memoir Advantage Player: Blackjack, Backrooms, and Beginnings; an “advantage player” uses skill and knowledge to improve their odds against a casino.
