‘Rings of Power’ Officially Reveals Gandalf in New Season 3 Image
Prime Video has released the first official image of Gandalf from Season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, ahead of the show's return on 11 November. The character, played by Daniel Weyman, spent the first two seasons appearing as the mysterious "Stranger" before it was confirmed he was in fact Gandalf, making Weyman the first actor besides Ian McKellen to portray the wizard on screen since Peter Jackson's original trilogy.
The reveal follows an official first look at Sauron released just a day earlier, suggesting marketing for the new season is now ramping up. Season 3 will be the biggest release on Prime Video this year, arriving two years after Season 2, with the series currently planned to run for five seasons in total, although renewal beyond Season 3 has not yet been confirmed. Fans can also look forward to the spin-off film The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, though that is not due in cinemas until 17 December 2027.
