Cardiff fly-half Harri Wilde will join rival region Ospreys on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old's departure follows Cardiff's signing of Wales international Jarrod Evans from Harlequins, creating increased competition for the starting fly-half position. Wilde, who made his competitive debut for Cardiff in November 2025, will provide backup cover at Ospreys whilst remaining under his long-term Cardiff contract, with the option of being recalled if circumstances change.

The arrangement addresses pressing requirements at both organisations: Ospreys lost fly-half Jack Walsh to French club Montauban and sought additional positional cover, whilst Cardiff aimed to provide development opportunities for younger prospects. Both clubs' coaches framed the deal as constructive collaboration within Welsh rugby, enabling Wilde to gain valuable competitive experience whilst strengthening Ospreys' fly-half options. Ospreys simultaneously recruited Australian utility player Lawson Creighton, who can operate at fly-half, centre, or full-back.
