Jake Reiner has spoken publicly for the first time about the deaths of his parents, director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer-Reiner, describing the shock, grief and anger that followed. He said the experience has left him and his sister Romy feeling largely alone as they try to process the loss, while their brother Nick remains in custody facing murder charges.

Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer-Reiner, 68, were found dead at their Los Angeles home on 14 December. Nick Reiner was subsequently charged with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances, pleaded not guilty in February, and is due for a pre-trial hearing on 15 September; Jake did not discuss the case directly. Jake said his grief often becomes rage over the lack of control he had over what happened, and recalled that Romy found their father and alerted emergency services.
