The game's creator, known as Mad_hhhh, has been inactive for years, and because no maturity rating has been set for the experience, Roblox has pulled it from availability, meaning it will likely remain inaccessible unless the creator returns to verify it.

The situation stems from Roblox Corporation's move to introduce age verification and mandatory content ratings following years of criticism from parents, users and politicians over child safety on the platform. Be Dead Forever Simulator, in which players earn currency by dying in various ways to spend on cosmetics, has amassed nearly 500,000 favourites but currently has no active players. Reaction among the Roblox community has been one of dismay, with some suggesting unrated games should default to an 18+ classification as a safer alternative to removal, while others lament the potential loss of long-running titles as "lost media" for younger players who won't have other ways to access them.
