RoboCop is set to return as a new eight-episode television series on Prime Video, with Amazon MGM Studios and Blumhouse Atomic Monster confirming the long-rumoured project. The franchise's original co-creator Ed Neumeier will executive produce, alongside showrunner Peter Ocko and Blumhouse's James Wan, Michael Clear and Rob Hackett, signalling an attempt to revive the property's satirical edge around corporate power and unchecked technology for a modern audience.

The new series will follow a giant tech company that persuades a city to install a robot officer, implanted with the consciousness of a deceased police officer, onto its force; reports suggest the lead character will be a soldier-turned-cyborg named Mark Kyle, with Wan directing key episodes. It follows the original 1987 RoboCop film by Neumeier, Michael Miner and Paul Verhoeven, two sequels, a 2014 remake, and an abandoned Neill Blomkamp reboot. Filming is expected to begin in 2027, though no release date has yet been announced.
