‘Rocky’ Officially Returns With a Brand-New 50th Anniversary Release [Exclusive]
The 1976 boxing drama Rocky is being marked for its 50th anniversary with a new illustrated book, The Fine Art of Rocky: An Artistic Tribute From Screen to Canvas, due for release this autumn. The Best Picture-winning film, which launched Sylvester Stallone to stardom and spawned numerous sequels, follows Philadelphia underdog boxer Rocky Balboa as he takes on heavyweight champion Apollo Creed. The book celebrates the franchise's legacy through artwork covering all five original Rocky films.
The book is written by John Rivoli, MGM's official Rocky franchise artist, and published by Insight Editions, featuring a new introduction penned by Stallone himself. It will be released in a standard edition and a deluxe version limited to 300 individually numbered copies, which comes in a bespoke clamshell box, is signed by Rivoli, and includes an exclusive cover plus four 16-by-20 prints. Both editions are available for pre-order now, with in-store release set for October.
