The Draft is already allocated to Washington, DC in 2027 and Minneapolis in 2028, making 2029 Charlotte’s earliest realistic opportunity. Goodell noted that the event drew a record 805,000 attendees in Pittsburgh this year, while Charlotte has about 50,000 hotel rooms across its wider area; Super Bowl hosts are estimated to need 60,000 to 75,000 rooms. Panthers owner David Tepper also promoted Charlotte’s transport links and airport, while joking that team executive Dan Morgan’s home could be offered to visitors.
