## Key points

- Vader’s hallway scene highlights the rebels’ vulnerability.
- Some fans recast it as a call for more violence.
- The author says loud discourse can limit creative risks.

## Summary

The article argues that Darth Vader’s hallway attack in *Rogue One* is both a thrilling highlight and a moment whose meaning has been distorted by parts of the fandom. In the film, the scene underscores the rebels’ vulnerability and the enormous cost of securing the Death Star plans, rather than presenting violence as the ideal direction for *Star Wars*.

The author says some fans treated the sequence as a demand for grittier, more violent stories, shaping expectations for later releases. They cite *Obi-Wan Kenobi*, *The Acolyte* and *Andor* as examples caught up in divisive debate, and argue that loud fan discourse has made the franchise less willing to take creative risks. The supplied article text ends mid-sentence, so its conclusion is not available.
