Rolling Stone Video Series ‘The Breakdown’ and ‘My Life in 10 Songs’ Are Headed to Netflix
Rolling Stone is bringing two of its music video franchises, "The Breakdown" and "My Life in 10 Songs", to Netflix in the United States and several other countries from August. Both series are built around in-depth interviews in which artists discuss how they created their biggest hits and the songs that have shaped their lives, and the move reflects Netflix's growing push to host publisher-made video content alongside its own programming. Both archival episodes and future instalments will be available on the platform from 3 August.
"The Breakdown" has featured artists including Dua Lipa on "Houdini", Teddy Swims on "Lose Control", Tyla on "Water", Shaboozey on "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and Doechii on "Denial Is a River", while "My Life in 10 Songs" has included Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Zara Larsson, Zayn and Jack Harlow. Rolling Stone is one of several outlets in the PMX/Penske Media group taking part, alongside Billboard, Eater, Indiewire, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, with other companies such as Condé Nast, Buzzfeed Studios and Hearst Magazines also involved. The videos will be available in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, with Netflix executive John Derderian saying the partnerships aim to "deepen fandom" and let members keep exploring the stories they enjoy.
