Rolling Stones Will Rock Through Six Decades of Their History In Immersive Roblox Game
The Rolling Stones have partnered with Roblox to launch an immersive, career-spanning video game as promotion for their new album, Foreign Tongues. Announced on Wednesday 8 July, the game went live on Friday 10 July — the same day the band released their 25th studio album — and invites players to journey through six decades of the group's history. The tie-up reflects a growing trend of veteran artists using gaming platforms to reach younger audiences while blending music, creativity and commerce.
In the game, hosted in Roblox's always-on entertainment hub The Block, players interact with items from the band's past trapped in colourful crystals inspired by their 2023 album Hackney Diamonds, progressing through eras as classic songs play and shattering crystals to power up a giant tongue-and-lips logo. Roblox recruited more than a dozen community creators — including WhoseTrade, DIONESS and Clockset — to reinterpret the iconic logo into avatar accessories and limited-edition physical merchandise sold via an in-game Shopify link. A final show runs from 17 to 19 July, while the album itself, produced by Andrew Watt, features collaborations with Paul McCartney, Robert Smith, Bruno Mars, Chad Smith and Steve Winwood.
