Ronaldinho seeks 300th goal with comeback aged 46
Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho has announced a comeback at the age of 46, joining Italian third-tier club Ravenna as a shareholder and potential player. The move was unveiled at "Ronaldinho Day", an event on a city beach that drew thousands of fans despite rain, marking his first return to the game since retiring in 2015. The 2002 World Cup winner and 2005 Ballon d'Or holder said he is open to featuring for the Serie C side and hopes to add to his career tally, potentially reaching his 300th goal.
Ronaldinho, who starred for Barcelona, AC Milan and Paris St-Germain during his career, last played professionally for Fluminense in September 2015. Club owner Ignazio Cipriani, who first announced the move in June, described the comeback as a "romantic" gesture rather than a marketing stunt, though confirmed Ronaldinho will not feature in Ravenna's Serie C season opener against Reggiana on Monday. Ravenna, aiming for promotion back to Serie B for the first time since 2008, finished third in their league group last season.
