Rose Tattoo frontman Gary “Angry” Anderson has confirmed plans for a new studio album, potentially due in late 2026 or early 2027, despite the Australian rock band beginning its farewell touring period. The record would give the band a final new release alongside its last concerts, and Anderson described the end of regular European touring as emotionally significant.

The band has many new songs available, meaning its 2025 cover of Stevie Wright’s “Hard Road” may be re-recorded or remixed for the album, but may also be omitted. Rose Tattoo will finish touring in Australia in 2026, play postponed final US dates in 2027, and perform farewell Australian shows in September 2026 featuring returning guitarist Rob Riley; Anderson, 79 and the sole original member, said rock and roll had helped him through a troubled childhood.
